\ ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Aashka has always been deeply curious - about materials, techniques, and the people behind them. Her practice thrives on collaboration with artisans across rural India, spanning textiles, metals and unconventional finishes. She believes that every craft carries a story of hands, heritage & place and through long conversations with the makers, she uncovers nuances that shape her design process.
Each dialogue becomes a bridge, transforming traditional skills into newfound expressions. By understanding artisans as individuals first, she invites trust and experimentation, allowing innovation to unfold organically.
Trained as a graphic designer, Aashka’s instinct for balance, form and visual rhythm translates fluidly into her spatial and material explorations. Her approach merges precision with intuition - where structure meets emotion, and design becomes storytelling.
Her explorations began in childhood with sketching, shaping and discovering new mediums long before Arisaa came into being. Today, Arisaa stands as a culmination of that lifelong curiosity: a space where craft meets concept and materials find new meaning through art and design.
